A New Name and a Recipe

Well, I think I have decided to change the title on my blog...I call it " trying to survive the Easley life"....cute little pun on words (don't you think...let me know.)

Anyway, it is so crazy around here...I am trying to find someone to do Easter pics, while working a little extra since Patrick's mom will be off for spring break this month...oh, and the cooking, and the cleaning, laundry, etc., etc. I am worn out and we are only 3 days into this month. However, some of you know that my new hobby lately is cooking (since I went prn at the hospital, I have time to spend making healthier dinners for my family. But, we still enjoy dessert most nights....I think since the dinners are more homemade, that we can spurge a little on dessert. So this is my new find....and it was GOOOOD. Patrick, Taylor and I literally licked the bowl clean. So, I though I would share it with you.

Baker's Mousse Bars

1 pkg. (8 squares) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, divided
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 can (14 oz.) EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk, divided
4 eggs
1 pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding
1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

HEAT oven to 325ºF.
MELT 6 chocolate squares as directed on package. Mix with sugar, flour, 1/4 cup condensed milk and eggs until well blended. Pour into 9-inch square pan sprayed with cooking spray.
BAKE 25 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely.
BEAT dry pudding mix and remaining condensed milk with whisk 2 min. Stir in COOL WHIP; spread over dessert. Melt remaining chocolate squares; drizzle over pudding layer. Refrigerate
until chocolate is firm.

This recipe is from Kraft foods, and I used fat free cool whip and sugar free instant pudding. I used the left over cool whip and put a glob on each bar once they were on everyones plate.....again...so gooood!

Anyone need a Makeover?

Patrick and I noticed we did not hear Taylor for a few minutes (and anyone with kids knows when they aren't being loud...they are into something). So, this is what we walked in on...Taylor at my make-up table.

This, my friends, is the finished product!

It's just a Bandaid

Well, we went to see Dr. Chevalier the other day for Lexie's 4 month check-up, and I explained to Taylor that Lexie would have to get shots so she wouldn't get sick. (I think kids should think that shots help people, they are not a from of punishment.) She seemed to understand that fairly well. However, when we got to the doctor's office and finished with the checkup. Dr. Chevalier's nurse came in to give Lexie her shots. As she is screaming from the shots, Taylor starts shouting because Lexie is getting bunny band-aids. I told Taylor she is getting those bandaids because she has bobos from her shots. Thank goodness the nurse asked Taylor if stickers would help her feel better, and they did help some. Although as we were leaving, I couldn't even get checked out without Taylor asking (and I mean a million times) if she could have some bunny band-aids for her bobos. So, when we got home I pulled out the plain old bandaids that we had and Taylor said..." I want the pretty ones." Good gracious ...it is just a bandaid!

My Honest Award

Hey. Well, I still playing catch-up from all the holiday craziness. We were gone every weekend in the month of December to some Christmas function or another. I love Christmas, but it is so overwhelming.
Anyway, Erin gave me a blog award and I am just know getting around to accepting it. Erin, thank you so much. Now, for the rules.

Rules for the award:
1. Must thank the person who gave you the award and list their blog and link it.
2. Share "10 Honest things" about yourself.
3. Present this award to others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you.
4. Tell those people they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.

10 Honest Thing about Myself.

1. I have a temper. I know it probably doesn't come as a shock to some, but I see it more in Taylor and worry I am not being a good example for her. (this is also and area I am praying I can better control)
2. I hate to clean. Although, now that I stay at home more, all these toys that reside in my living floor are starting to annoy me.
3. I really want to learn to sew. My mom sews Taylor and Lexie the cutes thing, so I hope this next year I can learn from her.
4. I really don't want to turn 30 on the 18th of January. I have no idea why that number bothers me so much. (30 it is like nothing, I know lots of cool 30 year old) But, why does it have to be me.
5. I want to have 4-5 kids... does anyone think I am crazy?
6. Ever since I meet Patrick, we got married, and made our home in Madison. I have prayed for God to help me find really good friends like the ones I had in high school. I still have my 2 very best friend from HS, but we don't live in the same town anymore and it is hard to get together. But, I have desperately been searching for people who are going through the same stage of life as us....you know, with kids, bills, jobs, etc., and since I have had Taylor and Lexie I feel like I have that connection with a few people from our Sunday school class. Granted, we may not spend all our time together, but I feel like if I called them and need help with something or wanted to go catch a bit to eat they would be happy to go.
7. I love my girls, I probably worry about them to much. I worry their life will be hard with the way the world. (Another area that I continually pray for help with)
8. I love the convents of living in the city, but I desperately miss living in the country. I use to like about 20 min. from the nearest grocery store and 45 min from Wal-mart. My mom and granny just got satellite 2 years ago, and Internet last year. Also, when I go to my mom's my cell phone doesn't work. How did I ever make it.
9. I love to bake and eat what I bake because it is sooo good. However, I hate to try to lose weight, but I need too. I didn't lose all my baby weight with Taylor and since having Lexie I have added a couple more pounds to that. So, now I am exercising and I hate to do that. When I was younger, I never had to exercise and could eat anything I wanted. (Where has the time gone.)
10. God has blessed me so much. I have 3 beautiful girls. Some of you already know, but Taylor she has a twin sister, Meredith, but she didn't make it and is now in heaven with Jesus. It makes Heaven that much of a sweeter place for me, and I can't wait to get there!

Well, that is my 10 honest things.
So I bestow my award to
-chad
-Jenny W.
-Suzanne
-Demetria
-Ramey
-Erin (I know you gave me the award, however, I could not include you, because you do inspire me too.)
